INGREDIENTS

Indole-3-carbinol has been shown to help to lower the risk of breast cancer
Although it was previously thought that increasing total vegetable intake helped to lower risk of breast cancers, new research indicates that only a handful of micronutrients found in specific vegetables are responsible for anticarcinogenic effects. One of these nutrients is indole-3- carbinol, derived from glucosinolates. This compound is found solely in the Cruciferae family of vegetables, including cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. In vitro and in vivo studies have suggested that indole-3-carbinol plays a role in the prevention of mammary carcinogenesis and other estrogen-responsive cancer types, primarily through its antiestrogenic properties (Bradlow et al., 1991; Jin et al., 1999; Kojima et al., 1994; Michnovicz and Bradlow, 1990; Rice and Whitehead, 2006).

Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) has been shown to help lower the risk of breast cancer
Silybum marianum contains silymarin, an active flavonoid complex that comprises 65-80% of milk thistle extract. (Dhiman and Chawla, 2005; Kroll et al., 2007; Pliskova et al., 2005; Rainone, 2005; Stickel and Schuppan, 2007; Wagner et al., 1974; Wagner et al., 1968). Silibinin, the active constituent of silymarin, enhances phase II enzymes and plays a role in cancer chemoprevention. Zhao et al, Carcinogenesis 1999 20. The fact that components of Silybum marianum exhibit estrogenic activity may have important implications in reducing estrogen-dependent premenopausal and postmenopausal breast cancer risk. (Albertazzi et al., 2002; Greenlee et al., 2007; MayoClinic, 2007; Mazur, 2000; Rice and Whitehead, 2006; Usui, 2006).

Calcium-D-Glucarate has been shown to inhibit breast cancer tumor growth
Calcium D-glucarate possesses anticarcinogenic properties which have been linked to reducing breast cancer. This compound may inhibit carcinogenesis during both the promotion and initiation phases. The majority of research examining mechanisms of calcium D-glucarate in breast cancer has been conducted on mammary tumors in the rat. This is the most frequently used animal model for studying breast cancer. A number of studies have shown that calcium D-glucarate has the ability to inhibit mammary carcinogenesis in rats by as much as 70%. Moreover, several studieshave demonstrated that calcium D-glucarate can inhibit mammary tumor growth in both animal models and human cell lines (Abou-Issa et al., 1992; Abou-Issa et al., 1995; Bhatnagar et al., 1991; Calcium D-Glucarate Monograph, 2002; Curley et al., 1994; Heerdt et al., 1995; Webb et al., 1993).

Schizandra chinensis has been shown to support the liver function in detoxifying the body
Schizandra berry and seed increase hepatic glutathione, an essential liver anti-oxidant and detoxifier also found in Milk Thistle seed. It is adaptogenic, meaning it normalizes the human response to stress through the immune, endocrine and nervous systems. Park et al, Planta Medica 2007 73:5, Hug et al, Arch Pharm Res 2007 30:6, Ko et al, Am J Clin Med 2006 34:2,Opletal et al, Ceska Slov Farm 2001 50:4 Kormosa et al, Phytother Res 2006 20:5

Stinging Nettle has been shown to help to prevent cancer
Nettle root contains compounds that act as aromatase inhibitors, know to prevent hormone sensitive cancers.
Gansser et al, Planta Med 1995 61:2.

[HMR] Lignans has been shown to inhibit tumor growth
Enterolactones help protect immunity, cardiovascular, breast and bone health. Flaxseed is a good source of enterolactones but HMR lignans contain 80,000 times the potency.
Consentino et al, Pharmacol Res 2007 56:2 Miura et al, Nutr Cancer 2007 58:1

Enterolactone and enterodiol blood serum levels are associated with good breast health and cancer prevention Saarinen et al, Mol Nutr Food Res 2007 51:7 Touillard et al, J Natl Cancer Instit 2007 99:6 Piller et al, Eur J Cancer Prev 2006 15:3 McCann et al, Int J Cancer 2004 111:3

Vitamin D3 has been shown to help to lower the risk of breast cancer and reduce breast tenderness
There is a growing body of scientific evidence regarding the link between vitamin D and reducing risk for breast cancers. Specifically, 1,25-[OH]2 D3, the biologically active form of vitamin D3 is a potent negative growth regulator of breast cancer cells, both in vivo and in vitro (Chouvet et al., 1986; Colston et al., 1992; Wijngaarden et al., 1994).

Not only does maintaining a healthy estrogen balance reduce breast cancer risk, but it may also alleviate breast tenderness associated with the menstrual cycle. During the menstrual cycle and in the early stages of menopause, women often are afflicted with pain, soreness or overall discomfort in their breasts. These changes are caused mainly by unbalanced levels of estrogen hormones. It has been hypothesized that compounds, such as vitamin D, that can alter estrogenic bioresponses to create a healthier estrogen balance in the body may have important implications in reducing menstrual cycle breast tenderness (Bryant et al., 2005; Macafem, 2007).

What Other Women Say

I am a 64 year old woman who has been taking your breast formula for the past three years. In 1988 I had my first breast surgery to remove suspicious cells; this was followed with another surgery in 1992. Over the next several years, I was diagnosed with fibro cystic breasts. There were mammograms every 6 months always a call back for an ultra sound and of course, the constant worry that maybe this one was not a cyst. I can’t tell you how many needle biopsies’ I have had. What I can tell you is that about four years ago my Dr. suggested I try your Breast Formula, the best move I have made; my worries are so much less. In the past three years there have been no lumps, bumps, cysts. No extra mammograms, no ultra sounds, just the normal yearly examinations. I believe that your Breast Formula has solved my breast problems, and would be happy to share that exciting news with anyone.

Sincerely,
Kathleen
