Production Facilities
All femMED products are manufactured at 3 pharmaceutically licensed facility in Canada. All production facilities maintain a Health Canada Pharmaceutical Establishment License (EL), and are therefore certified as following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). GMP is an overall quality standard enforced by the Health Protection Branch of Health Canada that includes raw material and product sourcing, testing requirements, record keeping and product tracking, manufacturing facility sanitation, personnel qualifications and more.
Natural Product Numbers (NPNs)
Health Canada has adopted a risk-based approach to compliance and enforcement of products awaiting NPNs (Natural Product Numbers). Under this approach, action is taken (e.g. requesting that natural health products be relabelled or be removed from store shelves) specifically when an unacceptable risk to health is identified; when the product in question does not have an NPN appilcation currently in queue for assessment with Health Canada; and/or when the product is manufactured, packaged, labelled or imported by Canadian sites that do not hold a valid site license. This explains why products without NPNs can be found on store shelves.

Responsible Packaging
femMED bottles are made from HDPE #2 and can be recycled through most municipal recycling programs. All of our bottles are free from BPA and phthalates and the cotton that we use is elemental chlorine free (ECF).
Responsible Products
femMED formulations are not tested on animals. None of our products contain dairy, egg, artificial colours or flavours. Most of our products are gluten free (except Sleep) and yeast free (except Hair, Skin & Nails).
femMED products do not contain unnecessary additives.
Responsible Communications
All company collateral is printed on paper sourced from Forest Stewardship programs and printed with vegetable grade inks. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests.
